Rates for TWO People

Booking Deposit

All bookings made through Post Card Inn require a $200 deposit to secure the day or days of the charter. Should any reasonable circumstance or change arise, with one week’s notice, this deposit will be refunded in full.

Up to 48 hours prior, any urgent situation will also result in a full refund of the deposit. Circumstances that may arise less than 48 hours before the charter will receive full and fair consideration, and of course an emergency beyond the control of the client will always constitute a full refund.

The purpose of the deposit is to prevent a no-show without explanation. By the time of departure, a significant investment of labor and funds have been made in the trip (bait capture, bait purchase, fuel, ice, turning down other trips). In the rare event that someone would knowingly not show up, change plans without notice, and so on, their deposit will be applied to the costs incurred by the business.

I think I’ve only had this happen on two occasions in some 43 years of operation, so what I often do for most direct clients is either take credit card information or I know them so well that a verbal agreement is plenty.

Weather Cancellation

All bookings made through Post Card Inn require a $200 deposit to secure the day or days of the charter of Cancellation due to weather conditions on the one hand is strictly at the discretion of the captain.

On the other hand, these trips must be safe, and they must be fun. The great thing about operating in a 20-foot Seacraft is that we have access to very protected conditions if it’s blowing and rough in open water.

Our clients book trips knowing that if their first choice of target species, let’s say dolphin offshore, involves unsafe conditions, we’ll go fish for something else where it is comfortable and safe. Same goes for the back country—if it’s covered up by thunderstorms and lightning, but it’s nice out at the reef, that’s where we’ll go.

We will never risk lightning, and we also will never ask folks to endure rough seas and the seasickness that could result, pervasive rain, or other miserable conditions.

If it’s unavoidably nasty and dangerous on the morning of our trip, we’ll simply cancel or re-book a different day if it fits with your itinerary, and any deposit will be refunded in full.
